About the Bilston Ramblers

We are a relatively new Group of the Ramblers Association only being formed in 1998.  Our allocated area covers the towns of Willenhall, Bilston, Coseley, Blakenall and Tipton but people from anywhere can join us and will be made most welcome.   Bilston Ramblers is a Black Country Group for Black country People.

Our walking programme is vary varied and designed to offer something to most people with long and short, flat and hilly walks, and local walks and walks further afield – although we are particularly keen to show you what is available more or less on your doorstep and to have a good time.

We arrange walks for Saturdays and Sundays and even for midweek in the summer.  Many of the walks use public transport.  Others involve car share or minibuses or even a coach.  Please see the link below for our latest programme.

In addition, the Group is keen to promote walking generally, particularly as a way of improving health and community safety, and to improve the facilities for walking in terms of open spaces and on and while crossing roads in our area.  This can involve pushing for better access to open spaces, arguing for retention of existing footpaths and creation of new ones, and working with the local authorities to clear and improve paths.
